    Default Nutella icing recipe??

....Firstly apologies for all the cravings that will start just from the thread title :P

I want to make a cake for my DH's birthday. He isn't much of a cake person (prefers trifle) but he loves nutella so I wanted to do a choc cake with nutella icing. Has anyone ever made this before? I had a basic idea of making whipped cream and adding nutella to it but not sure how that would turn out. So any recipes or ideas would be much appreciated! All the ones on google seem to be buttercreams which I would prefer to avoid!

Yes, I've seen a recipe for Nutella dip (basically cream cheese, Nutella and cream whipped together) that would work as icing. I'll try to find a link.

Hmmm do you think it would have a strong cream cheese taste? Fussy DH hates cream cheese frosting lol but with nutella I'm thinking he wouldn't taste it?

Cheesecake dip will have a cream cheese taste to it.
Id follow that recipe but only use half a block of cream cheese rather then a full.
You really only want it to bulk up the icing. Even icing sugar with nutella and cream will work

I agree, if he doesn't like cream cheese, maybe try just whipping up cream and Nutella. I usually cover my kids' birthday cakes with just firmly whipped cream with nothing else added (except food colouring) so I think adding Nutella would bulk it up enough to use as icing.
