    Default Laparoscopy

Generally, what makes a FS decide to do one and how long would they usually wait before doing one?
My fiancé and I have been TTC for 19months and just did my first cycle of 50mg clomid which was hell! I see my FS again tomorrow and am wondering if she may put me forward for a laparoscopy as it was mentioned last appt 6 weeks ago. If she does, what can I expect?
    Thanks in advance ladies 😊

    Hi there!

I had a lap after 20 months of trying to fall pregnant. My FS couldn't find anything wrong with me on other tests so he suggested the lap to have a look at my tubes and see if there were any blockages.

I booked mine through the private hospital and had it done about a month and a half later. I was a bit sore and sorry afterwards but nothing terrible.

Worked a treat for me as even though FS couldn't see any problems I fell pregnant the following month! He's now 2.5 and about to become a big brother!

Good luck with your appointment I hope it works out for you

yeah I had been trying for a very long time. No explainable reason ...

had a lap (which wasnt much fun) ... found endometriosis which was treated and had a bit of scarring etc. FS said no way would I fall pregnant naturally, so booked me in for IVF - to start in 3 months time

I did ovulation tracking in that time - and fell pregnant naturally the 3rd month - just before I was due to start IVF

so yeah - if you have no real reasons ... then sometimes a lap can be a good idea

I had one after 5 miscarriages and investigations revealed no obvious cause. The lap found endometriosis which was removed during the op, and DS2 has recently arrived on the scene 9 months after the lap.

My original FS decided to do one as some of my symptoms indicated that I could have endometriosis..... she was right.

I've since changed fertility specialists and am now booked in for a lap for the 19th Nov. So much happier with our new FS. Chalk and cheese between her and the last one! With some luck we might start IVF in January but will wait and see how the lap goes 😉
