Yes he has seen a psychologist and psychiatrist for 3 years now, and we are always working out new ways to help him - medication, physically, mentally. Etc.

He can read the most basic of basic books, if he really really tries hard... He is very good at math...

There is a special school near us, and I am going to call them this arvo and see if they can help... Other that that, I'm lost...

    Oh and routine, routine, routine.....

Everyday is the same, and if we need to change it, we need to sit down together and reschedule our day, making him think he is the one coming up with the "list".... Then all say everyday... "Ok mum, done that, what's next on our list?"

Its such bull****. He has a dual dx so that should qualify for help. He's just obviously not in the right environment at school. Have you had an iq test to see where he sits? Our local aspect school, intellectual impairment can mean a language disorder, or if other issues are severe that impact learning in a regular classroom they will take them anyway.

Ummm....I know that in SA, you cannot be prevented from attending state schools. That sounds really off to me - your son has a right to access an education.

I'm so sorry, this seem so difficult, and I have no real advice because I am just astounded that your son can be excluded indefinitely from a government school. Just wondering, in SA we have things called Behavioural Units which are an alternative to main****** schooling and are provided for students with violence issues. Is there something similar that you can access?

I would contact your local member of Parliament. They will and should help you with access to special school etc. There are some schools too that cater specifically for ASD kiddies. But definitely talk to your local mp. They are there to work for the people.
I'm sorry to hear you are having so much trouble.

Ypu said you're in qld? Are you in Brisbane? I can suggest some alternative schools if you are.
