Default 11 weeks pregnant bleeding but still a heart beat

    Hi
i am 11 weeks on Monday n last night I started to bleed at about 5Pm

i didn't think to much at first I thought maybe I am getting a UTI coz the night before my partner n I had sex n I hurt after to pee n then again the next arvo when we went to have sex again.
And I had smelly urine which was dark.

i put on a pad and we went out to dinner at 10pm I thought it was odd that there was still a lot of blood every time I went to the bathroom.
So I took myself off to hospital all the bloods were done straight away and a urine sample all came back clear
I was admitted into short stay ward till morning when I could get an ultrasound

bubs has a strong Heart beat of 175
placenta is all still attached and in place but there is a lot of Fluid around the Sac which explains my bleeding.

results in they can't do anything about the fluid and let Nature take it's course
i was told there is A very High Percentage Now that I will Miss Carry
im so shocked my Bubs has a very strong heartbeat still 😘
I don't want to Go to the Toilet coz every time I see the blood I just Cry, n Cry
    • Is there the possibility that I don't actually mis carry
    • Has anyone else experienced this
    i have 3 beautiful babies 3.5, 2.5, and 1

Couldn't read and not reply, but it seems a bit contradictory doesn't it "strong heartbeat but expect miscarriage" you poor thing I had bleeds earlier with both my successful pregnancies (at 7-8ish) weeks that I passed off as a period Hopefully it's all ok for you and this bub x

It is really hard to think that this the possibility coz at our first ultrasound heart beat was 160 and now 2 weeks later it's higher.. 👍👍
I'm not clotting and I have n pain just the blood after I pee it pours out about a good 2 Tablespoons 😞😞😞

Have you had your progesterone checked? Seems strange to be bleeding if baby looks fine.

My baby had a HB when I started bleeding, but at the u/s you could see the sac didn't develop right and that's why I was miscarrying.

I would be getting another opinion. Fingers crossed for you!

Did they mention anything about a hematoma?

I had a gushing bleed at 11 weeks, the scan showed a subchorionic hematoma which is basically a blood clot which forms between the amniotic sac & the uterus. If bleeding continues the hematoma can cause the sac to peel away from the uterus, causing miscarriage. The baby can be perfect, strong hb is no indication of possible miscarriage in this scenario. The hematoma can also resolve itself and be reabsorbed into the body. It can go either way. Rest and avoiding lifting can assist but there's really nothing you can do but wait.

Give the hospital a ring and ask them to look through your notes to give you more information. Or go back in.

I had unexplained bleeding that sounds similar to yours with my first pregnancy. That was 16 years ago, ultrasounds were not as sensitive then. I had bright red bleeding starting at 8 weeks that was mostly when I wiped. It was like the start or end of a period. No pain at all, my baby also had a strong heartbeat and all looked fine except for a collection of fluid behind my uterus in what's called the pouch of Douglas.
The bleeding was on and off, never lots but always red, until 16 weeks. They told me at first it was a threatened miscarriage, but my cervix was closed.
I had two ultrasounds at 8 and 11 weeks and after that they decided everything was ok.
The rest of my pregnancy was normal and my son was born perfectly healthy.

I ended up with a hematoma with my third pregnancy, but it was never mentioned with my first. I think it was something entirely different.
From what I read online recently about this pouch of Douglas thing, women with endo can often collect blood there, but I've never had endo, only irregular periods.

Take it easy, I hope everything resolves and will be just fine for you like it was for me.
