    Hi Guys,

I haven't posted on here for a while but I have been keeping track of everyone's journeys!

As i had previously posted I was having a lot of brown discharge/mucous (sorry TMI) and pretty much no symptoms of pregnancy. I was too scared to write on here because I was terrified I was no longer pregnant although my OB had constantly assured me that everything was fine.

Well we had our 13 week Nuchal scan yesterday (already had the blood tests) and was the most relieved person in the world. It was like my little munchkin was proving it was super healthy and well because it did not stop wriggling and flipping about for the entire ultrasound. Strong healthy heartbeat as well so I am one relieved and happy person. I absolutely refuse to let myself get that stressed out again. The nucahal fold measurement thing was 1.3 which i think is good.

What a beautiful experience seeing your baby for the first time - soooooo happy

I'm so glad to hear your good results @HavingitAll! I was so worried for you! Party time indeed !

Welcome to new ladies who recently has their BFP's!

Congrats on all the new boys. Has even one lady heard they are having a girl yet?? Recently my neighbours and coworkers stated dropping off bags and bags of baby boy clothes. It was so special to sort through it all and picture my baby boy in them. Made me clucky!!

In terms of birth...hypo birth and calm birth sound great. No harm in taking classes, reading and planning the birth you would like. Just a word of caution though that many unexpected things can happen in labour. So while it's good to have a birth plan you should ask realize your experience may be something totally opposite due to circumstances out of your control.

With DS I just wanted to 'survive' I suppose. I went into labour wanting to avoid having an epidural but 12 hours into my labour I was so wild with pain I was begging for one. Nothing calm about me at that time! I was given one and it was amazing, the pain left. The huge downside was I could no longer push properly and it slowed down my contractions. So another 12 hours after that DS was pulled out with forceps as I just narrowly avoided a C section. It was a little traumatic to have him come out that way with cuts on his face.

I think this time my plan will be similar. I will try to push through the pain and have a natural birth with no meds but if it proves to much I would ask for the epidural again. I has envisioned being in control of my breaths and perhaps having a water birth but once my labour was in full gear I was like an animal, no control. I guess I don't have a good tolerance for pain!

    Hope everyone is well!

@BabyOB and @sarahf I watch One Born Every Minute too, and guarantee I get teary every single episode. The episodes usually end quite well, however one I was watching last week, the poor little baby died when he was 6 days old. I actually cried out loud at that. Thank goodness I was home by myself! Why do we do it to ourselves?!! haha.

Oh god which episode is that so I know to skip it? I've been watching them all on YouTube, up to season three so far. I reckon it's really good preparation for getting your head around birth.

@ScubaGal it's an episode about a couple who find out at their 20 week scan that their little boy's chest cavity hasn't developed properly and his bowels and intestines are up higher and his little lungs haven't developed as they should have. When the specialist told the mother there was nothing they could do the poor mother just howled and that well and truly set me off. So sad. Probably avoid it if you can

Oooh I watched that one the other day too and cried. So heartbreaking. It also got me nervous about my 20 week scan. I had that this morning and luckily everything is looking good and as it should be with bubs which was a big relief. They also did a quick 3D of the face which I can't stop looking at.

I binge watched OBEM during my first pregnancy - though I have to say that a lot of the time I spent aghast at how hopeless the husbands were (this on the US series mostly).

Also, I was told at 10+4 that the nub looked girlish. Waiting on my harmony test results (meant to be in today, was told it could be another week, grrrrr!) to find out for sure.

@KitiK yea third class of HypnoBirthing tomorrow. Really enjoying the breathing techniques for relaxing and just enjoying things... Reading through the book and listening to the affirmations and rainbow relaxation... It's nice to know that there is a away to control the birthing process and feel confident in knowing what your baby and body are telling you.

I've actually watched my sister give birth @Soques. I'm not worked up at all by the shows as it is someone else's birth story. I said to a friend that I'm not scared of giving birth as I can't be scared of a situation I am yet to find out how it unfolds. I find myself excited for the people giving birth
