It's not the numbers, just the doubling that counts as the range is really wide for healthy pregnancy

30-40 hours doubling time is fine because what they look for is doubling every 48 so you are well within that if it's doubling in 40 hours. Be aware too that the doubling can slow down to 3-4 days once your level goes over 6000... It won't necessarily but it can.

Good luck tomorrow @KitiK. I had my appointment today. Ahhh. I had the 'awwww' moment I didn't have the 1st scan. Maybe because it feels more real now? Was AMAZING. Xx

    Hi ladies,

I had my 13 week scan yesterday and all is well. Cool to see bub again. DH was with me and he teared up! They did bloods for downs and the other genetic testing and I should get the results in 10 days.

I still have placenta previa (the placenta is right on my cervix) which means I am still on restrictions. So no running, yoga, swimming or sex. I also cannot fly which means I am going to miss a school camp to Xian (terra-cotta warriors!) which I am a little bummed about. Oh well would rather be safe rather than sorry.

Someone mentioned gender and we will definitely find out, maybe even at my next scan at 17 weeks! Hoping for a girl but still thinking its a boy. We are going private but that is really the only option here in China because the public hospitals are poor quality and not at western standards.

OMG funny moment yesterday with the doctor. DH was asking about the sex restrictions and she turns around to him and says, "That also means no up the bum! That can knock the baby around too. It would be like poking his head." He went so red! He was not asking about anal sex and it was hilarious that she brought it up.

    best wishes to all,
    Canuck

I'm having a bit of anxiety today (5wks+6). feeling (again) like i should have some MS by now even though I know some people don't get it till 7 weeks....Sigh.

Scan is on Monday afternoon, will be so good to see a heartbeat.

Don't stress @scubagirl some people don't get ms AT ALL! Lucky people!!

If it makes you feel better I hope you are sick soon (for your piece of mind) and so I don't feel so lonely when I log on feeling like crap. PS, I only felt off colour a tiny bit till I had my first vomit at 6w on the day. It is abating now at 9w (I hope)...

@ScubaGal, I agree with @KitiK, my friend at work hasn't had any morning sickness at all with either of her pregnancies. As for me, I didn't start to feel nauseated until about 6 weeks and like Kitik it is starting to ease a little now, I'm currently 9w2d. I have not vomited once, but felt like I wanted to, pretty much all day every day, but it didn't start until some time in my 6th week. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about On a side note, today is the first day in 3 months that I haven't taken some form of medication/hormone treatment. I had my last lot of progesterone last night. I have been reducing my dose since my 7 week scan and now I'm done altogether. Kinda feel a bit anxious about that, but I can't stay on it forever, and my FS did say that I probably didn't need it at all from my BFP onwards, it was just a psychological thing for me I think, haha. So here we go..... medication free... eek
