Default Donor Milk: Push to make it legal in hospitals in NSW

    Hello all,

I'm writing an article on a community run petition pushing for parents to be allowed to legally use donor milk in hospitals. I'm wanting to speak to any parent who has had to sneak donor milk into a hospital, anyone who has used donor milk despite challenges in NSW and anyone that is pushing for donor milk to be allowed as a choice in hospitals. If you have experienced any of these issues in another state I would also be interested in hearing from you.

    Please pm or comment below.

    Wait, it's not legal?
I was in hospital last week (RPA) and I swear the lactation consultant walked past with a big tray of milk bottles labelled "Donor Milk". But this was in the NICU, are there different rules for premature or sick babies as opposed to healthy ones?
Sorry I can't actually help with your request though, I'm just curious.

I was under the impression it was not legal, perhaps it's a policy change instead?
