Exclamation Pregnant with second child. HELP! - how much to birth at public hospitals??

    Hi all
I am a New Zealand resident (not a NZ citizen) on a foreign passport, currently residing in Sydney for the next couple of years. Im 10 weeks pregnant with our second child and I do not qualify for Medicare.

I do know that under the Reciprocal Health Agreement, I should be covered through the public system. But does anyone know what this means exactly?
I have called RPA (Royal Prince Albert Hospital) here in Sydney and spoken to so many people...no one can give me an answer!

I just need to know what im covered for...i.e. routine checks/scans/bloodtests?

Also, how much would it cost if i were to give birth there and what about overnight stay?

Any input would be HUGELY appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

It says essential medical services which I don't think pregnancy includes. Your best bet is Medicare office. They should have the right details .
