    We live near indooroopilly, mt ommaney, jindalee, summers park etc and we love it. Beautiful suburbs. But there was flooding near us so check the maps!

    Just wondering, what do you typically pay for council rates and water for the quarter? Our council here is $302 pq and our last water bill was $275 for the quarter - I understand Brissy can be much higher?

    Depends on the suburb, it's based on land value for rates so expensive suburbs obviously are more

    We just paid our land rates just over $400/quarter and water $250/quarter @ fig tree pocket

    Hi, I'm watching this thread with interest. We are in the same situation and possibly moving to Brisbane end of year (from Sydney, Northern Beaches). I'll put my 2 cents in. We loved Bulimba/Hawthorne area as we want something similar to what we are used to with regards to cafe, shopping ect. Our house budget is similar too. Best of luck.
