Is it weird that I read to my 5 month old? Is it weird I borrowed a whole heap of books from the local library to read to him? His nan seemed to think so. Crazy lady.

its not weird to read to a young child. No matter how young.

Impressions are formed so early - and they learn a love of books from you. If they see or hear you reading, if you read to them ... if you show them that its important and can be fun and enjoyable.

Its setting you up for the future

I have always read to my babies from day dot. I always wanted them to love reading and not struggle with it like I do. So far I have a 5/6 who love reading. 4 are great readers. I is too young to read and the other one really struggles. He has a reading level of a gr 2/3 in year 9. It the biggest part of his learning disability. It breaks my heart.
