    Default Help with sperm analysis

My husband and I will be starting ivf in a few months. We have just had a routine semen analysis, however I can't understand it.
Does anyone know if this is a good/bad result. Any help would be greatImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1404117942.028513.jpg

Husband is very proud of himself. Thinks he needs a cape now. I guess that's one positive leading into ivf. Thanks

Good luck, it's great news you are not dealing with male factor too.
I have pcos and have just got my BFP from a FET so if you have any IVF questions fire away! X

Have you discussed iui with your fs? I can't see the pic on my phone (glitch) but if you have a normal sa, known ovulatory issues and are young, it could be worth trying iui before ivf. Have you had your tubes checked? If you have patent tubes you can use low doses of fsh (most people do), to grow a follicle - it doesn't matter if Clomid doesn't work for you.

Yes I completely agree, you may very well suit a trial of IUI :-)

I was just wondering if maybe your FS recommended you try IVF because the stimming drugs are stronger in IVF and since you haven't had results from clomid maybe that's why?*

But as per my previous comment the FS should be giving you a clear rationale... And should have explained the sperm analysis to you.

    #secondopinion

Some clinics offer a free initial consult - maybe you could get a second opinion without paying for it...

*note that I haven't used Clomid and my IVF cycle hasn't started so I'm speculating at best...

I'm seeing Sam Sabary he is with monash ivf.
My last appointment I attended I was not expecting ivf as my next option. It came as a shock so I didn't really get to process the idea or ask many questions. I did ask if I should have a laproscopy first and he said there was no indication for it. Last week when he told me our next step was ivf, we didn't have DH semen results back.
I guess he will educate me more at our next appointment. In the meantime I have attended the counselling session and applied for police checks ect.
I'm kinda torn because I feel like ivf is really jumping the gun, however if I'm more likely to be holding a baby in a year then I think it's worth it. Ahhhhh this is so hard
