    Someone just told me this paid leave isn't in effect until July 2015, Is that true? I'm due may 2015

    Not at all true.
    The previous Labor government implemented paid parental leave for 18 weeks at minimum wage.
    That is what's still available now.
    The Abbott Government promised a more generous parental leave during the last election campaign. It hasn't happened yet but is due to be implemented June 2015 if it gets through.
