Default Meal planning and shopping lists (budget)

So, thought I would start a thread about meal planning and shopping lists because I am bored with my own! Its not very creative and actually pretty boring. I like that it saves me money, but am bored with the meals. I would love to swap plans/ideas with anyone for cheap, easy and nutritious meals! I hate wasting food and like to try to grow what I can (not very successfully at the moment)... anyone interested?

I know what you mean about getting bored with meals. My hubby is fussy so he doesnt really enjoy anything that doesnt have chicken in it! I need my variety so tend to try new things and then have to sit across from him while he slowly picks at it. Tbh my 20month old is better than he is with trying new foods. Frustrating!

Thats got to be hard! My dh will eat whatever I feed him (whether he likes it or not!) Working full time has seen me resort to lots of quick unhealthy pasta dishes and he is a bit over it so I need to mix it up a bit! He offers to cook but tbh he is really terrible so it's something I am happy to do! :-)

Yeah it drives me nuts sometimes! He gives himself away with how he eats something. If he likes it he eats it relatively quickly. If he doesnt he analyses it and eats painfully slow! It has come to the point where sometimes I will tell him what I plan to make and give him the option of finding himself something else to eat. I refuse to make two meals.

I don't do new things often food wise because I know what the family likes. Having said that our 18m old is starting to have meals with us and we are trying to eat better... there are advantages and disadvantages of having the weeks menu on the fridge... not a good feeling when my 6yo dd goes "oh not spaghetti again..." though, so I need some new ideas.

Do you own a slow cooker or pressure cooker? They come in handy! Especially if you are working. You just throw everything in the slow cooker in the morning and it will be ready when you get home.
