This is us too. Whenever we are invited somewhere it's always a start time of around 7pm. My kids go to bed at that time so we always have to go early and leave before everyone gets there

Halfway through a dungeon playing Zelda OOT on the N64. DD comes along and yanks on a cord and havoc is caused. The trauma! The absolute horror!!

...Of course... I was only helping the boys out....

Been looking forward to today for a month, we were FINALLY going to get santa photos done and put up our xmas tree. But DH has come down with man flu (he's "dying" apparently :sly: ) So disappointed looks like there'll be no santa photos or xmas tree this year. Doesn't even feel like Christmas :'(

This and te constant back handed comments is why I hate family functions.

This almost happened to us recently. We were at a BBQ celebrating a child's birthday and while the food was being cooked by my brother (the dad of the child) it was being delivered solely to his in-laws picnic table and the only people being told it was ready were that side of the family even though the food was for everyone. The adults helped themselves without making sure the kids were fed first. It was only because my brother cooked 10kg sausages (for about 30 people max) that everyone got to eat. Our kids ended up eating the last batch of sausages that were cooked and that was only because the adults at that table had filled themselves up. Lucky the kids weren't hungry before then though.

@HeavenBlue we were told to go and eat but there was nothing really left by that time anyway.
Just annoys me, it happens every time. Luckily I got in quick enough to get the kids some food.
@DesperatelySeekingSleep that is one of my pet hates. I always make sure kids are fed first.
