Bloomin' typical- the one day I actually feel like cleaning and the damn vacuum cleaner decides to cark it.

Mine did the same thing on Saturday! Gave me a few shocks first and died!
I hate spending money on things I'll hate using - like vacuum cleaners!

Why can't health funds give you the best deal upfront???
I was with one for 5 years but after DS was born switched because their quote was too pricey for families.
Within 48 hours of switching to another fund, the first one comes back with a quote that's $40 less per month.
Waste of their time and mine. If they had done that in the beginning I wouldn't have wasted all that time finding a better deal

Is there a secret code i'm supposed to use when making wedding enquiries so that i'm taken seriously? Is there a wedding equivalent of a tyre kicker I need to be careful not to appear to be?
I work as a function manager for a wedding venue - the best advice I can give is to be specific about details in your emails. Always list:
Date, start/finish time, number of guests, style of wedding (cocktail/sitdown), preference for beverages (tab/package) and any other info you think would help them quote you.
Specifically ask for a quote - use that word.
Mention you are really keen to arrange a time to meet with them to discuss options (I find people in my position love to get you face to face and will take this more seriously).

If you still don't have a response within one week - look elsewhere. It's a good indication the venue will treat you like that throughout the experience.

Good luck! Wedding planning sucks at times, but as long as you know what you want out of your day it will all fall into place 😊👍

One additional thing to do (if you do really want a particular venue and still getting no response) - call and find out an email or contact for venue manager, not just the function/wedding coordinator. Tell them you want this venue but will be forced to look elsewhere if nothing is followed up.
You'll get an answer crazy quick that way 😊

Great advice thank you! I'm going to try again using your advice.
I was specific about date range and number of guests but very vague on everything else now that I think about it. I possibly sounded a bit flaky since I was trying to come across as open to suggestion but probably ended up vague and non committal !

Don't feel that way. Don't feel like any lesser of a human being for not having one or any idea. Do u feel pressure from other people?
