Default Lodging your own tax return?

Does anyone do their own tax return without the help of an accountant?

Just curious as to whether it's pretty straight forward to do yourself.

Our financial situation is uncomplicated (no property investments etc.).

    Any tips would be appreciated

I had a quick look at the ATO website earlier - looks like the new mytax is a more straight forward method of lodging your return.

Looks like etax will remain for those who have more complex returns.

Yep, I've always done my own. If your financial affairs aren't complicated, it will be a super quick, simple process.
