You can wash on cold water too, we always wash with cold and plan to continue that with the nappies. I guess if they get gross we can spoil them every now and then with a hot wash. I'll keep you updated, hopefully I don't flake out after a couple of months.

I'm taking the 18 weeks too then going back to work. I should have had 20 weeks half pay from work but because I had to finish so early I've almost used it all up. So it definitely didn't go to plan as I ideally would have had almost 9 months off but oh well. It couldn't be helped. My obstetrician thinks my body just doesn't cope well with pregnancy hormones haha.

Have you filled out the forms and stuff yet? I hope there won't be a huge hold up with payments.

Does anyone know much about the family tax benefit and how that gets paid? I see mums talking about it but have no idea what it really is or how much it is.

I'm taking about 9 months total, 18 weeks govt mat leave, + 18 weeks long service at half pay then some time unpaid.

DW can can 3 months off before the end of the first twelve months while I transition back to work.

Have made it into centerlink to sign up to claim online but that's as far as it's got so far.

We're doing cloth too! I agree that it's just a tad addictive!

Yeah I've filled in and submitted my claim. I got notified today that it has been approved pending the baby's proof of birth.

I was dreading the whole thing initially but I wanted it finished up before mat leave. I submitted my claim online on the 2/2 and got my approval letter today 11/2. Now all I have to do is take a photo of the proof of birth and upload it in the app and my claim will be processed.

Def recommend getting the bulk of it done now and out of the way!

No idea about family tax benefits, I do know though, that you can't claim family fax benefit B whilst receiving PPL payments.

Submitted my claim today. Gotta love the government, apparently even though we're a married couple in not allowed to select that on the claim! I had to select "registered". What the?!

So unnecessary! On the flip side, yay for submitting your claim. I know what a relief it was when I did mine.

Hard to tell. I've been having contractions on and off for about 5 weeks now. I'm basically just sitting around waiting for them to become excruciating and regular. Hopefully that happens soon
