Mahalia we conceived first go with my first, but then it took 5 mths with Ds. It's not long, but I know what you mean!

The month we conceived was the month I didn't use opks and we just dtd whenever, so go figure! I do think I was Oing later than I thought.
Now we're ttc again, we will try to dtd every 2nd day from CD9 to 23. I'm taking folic acid and vitamin B.
    Good luck

Missionary then stay on side for 20 mins
Assess cm to look for ewcm. You usually o'd on last day of ewcm, not first.
Check cervix position. High and softer is o'd then straight after it drops a couple of cms and goes hard. - this will confirm that o'd has finished and having sex will be too late.
    Opks
    Temping
Don't bd any closer than 36 hours apart
Always bd once 2-3 days before o'd to get old sperm out
Understand that it takes 8-14 hours for the sperms journey to be able to be fertilized . (Needs to stop and rest)

Wow, thanks ladies - all great tips! Ashfirst - how did they find the growths? If we don't fall in the next few months if like to get checked but am afraid the dr will laugh and say I'm being silly!

And remember 30% of the time it's the man. Just because it's worked before doesn't mean sperm is the same as last time. There is a great 6 part documentary called the great sperm race. You can watch in YouTube. It goes for about 2.5 hrs I think

They did a test that puts dye through your tubes while they X-ray you. The gp started off with a blood test and I had low amh, so he referred me to the fertility specialist you then started over blood tests and the X-ray etc. I fell within a month of them removing the growths. I know my gp wouldn't do any tests until I had been trying for 12 months. I lied and told him we had because I just knew something was wrong. I had been using ovulation testers and having sex nonstop and I still wasn't falling. My period was really light and that was my first indication.

From what I've read the "best" positions are doggy and missionary, but they are also apparently the only positions that have actually been scientifically studied (so you need to be aware that, empirically speaking, they don't have much competition)!

Personally I'd say that anything with deep penetration would be good; give the swimmers a bit of a head start. (And any position that makes you happy and comfortable is also a bonus )
