    Hi Everyone!

I know I disappeared for a little while. Several weeks before we were to leave for SA I decided not to read/write here just because I thought it might make me more analytical or anxious about everything and I just wanted to stay relaxed.

But I am back and First off.... CONGRATULATIONS on all those wonderful BFP's out there. I am truly thrilled for all of you and it makes my heartache a little less...

AFM... We chose a proven donor (the doctor even said she has produced enough to have her own soccer team). But for us we got 8 oocytes, 6 fertilized and by day three 2 were fragmenting so I had a 3 day transfer of two 8 cell embies. Unfortunately resulting in a BFN. After speaking with the doctor he said there was nothing additional we could do. I am in great health and unfortunately ovaries can be unpredictable and the donor just didn't have a great cycle

Of course sad and very overwhelmed by all this. I haven't given up but will have to do a fresh cycle so to find a new donor, get the time off work, arrange everything, the costs, the plane tickets, 24 hour flight... Just very overwhelmed

But I only thought it fair you should all know the outcome so we can have realistic stats on the board.

and the good news... We LOVE CAPE TOWN!!!!! It was worth the trip regardless of the outcome.

Big Hugs Baby dreamer, it definitely sucks when we invest so much in a cycle (especially one overseas) and it results in a BFN. Take some time to do something special to nurture yourselves - whatever that may be for you x

It was nice to see this today :

She also did an interview on one of the morning program's too apparently.

I think it's great to see egg donation being presented as a real and honest option

Baby dreamer - sorry to hear about your result. Glad to read you are already planning to go back!

Blinky - thanks for the link. I agree its good to see, and that sonia highlighted that falling pregnant isnt always that easy. When i first heard it in the news i did wonder if it was a donor egg and if she would go public.

And congrats to those who have recently locked in their donor!

Baby dreamer, so sorry to read your news but it's great that you're giving it another go. Will you choose a new donor?

Luca, great to hear your PUPO with twins! Did you end up with any frosties after that great haul?

Babydreamer - I am sorry for your BFN. After everything we go through to get here to get that BFN must be devastating. I know we are psyching ourselves up for it just in case but I can imagine it is very disappointing no matter how much you prepare for it. But the good news in that is that yes you get to come back here to Cape Town. We love it too! Good luck with your new journey.

Yes so great to see so many have finally chosen their donor. It can be a emotionally draining process and such a relief to find one.

Seahorse - good luck for your journey. We leave here on Wed otherwise we could have caught up.

Miss Sagi - yes we did get 12 frosties. They sent me an email today with various gradings that I don't understand so will look this up once we are home.

Wow Sonia Kruger - really?? That is great! So happy for her. And yes great that she is honest about donor eggs.

Hi to everyone else. We so don't want to leave here

Thank you all for your kind words.

Yes Miss Sagi I am looking for a new donor. I contemplated using the same donor again because she has had a better result in the past but can't decide if that is really wise and now I have found out she is already booked for two more cycles so that has been decided for me and the search begins....
