I was looking at all of our photos of South Africa this morning. This time last year we were over there. Gosh we enjoyed it and I get a funny pang inside of me every time I see South Africa in particular Cape Town featured on the travel shows. We will most definitely be going back... my husband is already wanting to go for another! Not sure if I quite have my head there just yet, as it would be so different with two little ones?

Reading all the BH updates regularly. Lots of love to all of you on this journey. It really is quite amazing.

Luca - awesome egg numbers!! Everything crossed for wonderful fertilization results too. Grow little embies, grow!
Blinky - sorry to hear your numbers are high, but as you said, lucky you discovered it now and you have time to investigate.
Tittle - wow. I still remember the day you joined the forum and it's blood test time. Everything crossed that you have a little Tittle or two growing away.
Patsy - Hope the donor searching is going well and you find her soon!
AFM waiting to hear from Dr W re our donor before we sign on the dotted line and pay the $$$$. I hate waiting. Stressful too. Want to start planning the fun part of the trip. Xx

Ps Meant to ask in above post.
did anyone bother having a proven donor tested for AMH or anything else, or assume they were all good if they produced good numbers of eggs and a pregnancy?

    Hi All,

Well it turns out we got 26 eggs. 25 were injected and 20 have fertilized. We are due for a 5 day transfer on Saturday. I hope we get some great blasts.

Jiks - we are currently staying in self catering accom in Waterfront (Mountain Marina apartments). We did stay at The Vineyard Hotel for 2 nights when we first arrived last week. Both are amazing venues.

Patsy - no our donor wasn't proven. So we asked for her AMH results and were happy with that.

Hi to everyone. Will check in later in the week.

    Luca

Thanks Luca. @Patsy our donor was proven but we wanted additional peace of mind as we were going to be her 3rd cycle. Also coupled with the fact that she was in her early 30's. just crossing all fingers and toes that we get a fantastic result like Luca, as the age thing was a biggie for me., had to however go with her as she came highly recommended by the agency after our 1st choice pulled out.
Wishing all you brave ladies a smooth cycle. .

A quick question. Did any of you ladies bleed whilst on the pill? I have stated bleeding lightly, it has me worried that it might throw my treatment plan out of sync, cos I Thot the bleeding starts only after stopping the pill.

Luca: Well done on those numbers. And you've also proved that unproven donors are also a good move because, as we all know, there are no guarantees, either way. Will be thinking of you on Saturday.
Tittle: Fingers crossed for the blood test.
AFM...I think we may have found a donor. She's proven but I would have probably have been prepared to go for an unproven one now if we'd found the right one but this one has 'spoken' to me (as they say...) Driving myself mad as to whether we're making the right decision but I've just decided to go for it and what will be, will be... Dr W also seems happy with her, so that's a bonus too. Fingers crossed, it all works out...

    Hi Ladies and Gent

Title - thinking of you both and waiting with baited breath for some good news.

Luca - Wooooohoooooo, brilliant numbers and wonderful fertility rate.

Jinks - I have a very long, long time ago, when we weren't even doing ART and when it was for a contraceptive (if only we had known!!). I ended up changing pills.

Patsy - completely get you on going crazy trying to prove. Also get what you mean by the connection. It almost seems once you've settled on someone you can't go back.

Seahorse - I did the whole Clexane, prednisone and Pregnly bizzo. My FS here prescribed it all. He wasn't all that keen for he Pregnly, but I pushed for it. Not all that sure whether the Pregnly worked as we discovered the fridge in one of our rooms was not working and we kept dragging it around Sth Africa on ice blocks. Not convinced the temp was constant. I didn't tell the SA guys about the Pregnly, but they knew about the Clexane and prednisone.

Afm - the agencies are driving me crazy not responding to emails!!??

    Hi everyone

Just a quick question. Did anyone buy heaps over here and if so how did you get your stuff home? We have bought a lot (one of those 2 metre wooden giraffes and several other statues). I assume we would have to ship all this home. Has anyone done this and if so who did you use? We are having trouble finding a shipping company so just thought I would ask here! I doubt Qantas will let us put all this in extra luggage. We are here another week.

    Thank you!
    Luca
