Thanks @ScubaGal. It is totally a psychological thing. We are pretty badass

A dear friend of mine just found out that she is pregnant after having unprotected sex once. Like, actually literally one time only! I am happy for her, despite the sting - she is so happy and will be an awesome mum, but I feel like we live in different worlds. It’s almost like there is some strange magical land I am not a part of where people just have sex and then a baby comes out 9-ish months later. It sounds way too simple to be true! Hmm… Now I’m dreaming up pictures of ‘magical fertile-land’….

They will never, never know how random it is to be pregnant from one go or how hard it can be to have kids.

yes magical fertile land where you use birth control hahaha.

I've certainly never been to magical fertile land.

    All that wasted money!!

Condoms and pills and ovulation prediction kits and sperm friendly lube... All that effort and tracking and researching...

You know what though? I'm such a mad pro now at researching things, being healthy and doing yoga and meditation and coping with adversity and staying sane through all of it that I've decided I'm going to be a rockin' pregnant chick and a great mum. Badass.

Hello ladies, sorry I have been missing in action over the last week! I have been enjoying the two week wait on the beaches of Phuket with my family. Although I have not posted I have been following your progress and reading you're posts every day.

@Soques - great fertilization results! Embies keep growing! Quads - OMG! Can you imagine?!

@Cheekyhumour - hope those embies keep growing as well, is transfer going ahead today?

@shell'80 - yay for the surge! I remember doing the same thing when I had my FET. Any idea when ET will be?

@ScubaGal - I know what you mean about all that wasted money! I spent years on birth control, taking depo provera in shot form in my bum for 4 years! All for no reason…I will never get pregnant naturally. I'm sad I'll never experience it, but I have embraced this IVF journey as my path in life to having a family. And I'm so grateful for my DS!

AFM: So my blood test is scheduled for this coming Saturday. Tomorrow! But the local international hospital here in Phuket had no space for me to make an appointment so I need to wait until Sunday. Since I want to have my results read by an IVF specialist, not a gynecologist.

But I have succumbed to temptation (even though I promised not to) and POAS for the past three days. I had ET last Thursday so I suppose today I am 8dpt5dt…and on days 6,7and 8 post transfer I got an extremely faint positive line! On all three days! It is very faint but it is definitely there. I know I should not get to excited…but I can't help it! I guess it is bad because if Sunday is a BFN I will be even more heartbroken because the POAS has given me such hope for a BFP! It could obviously be a false positive due to the hormones in the trigger shot right? Also it is very faint…not a strong color at all! Do any of you have experience getting a faint positive before BETA?

That's awesome news @canuck28. Fingers and toes are crossed it's a great sign and Sunday brings good news. When I was pregnant the day I had my beta I POAS and it was so incredibly faint (meant to be high sensitivity too) and then my beta came back great so hopefully this is really it for you. @shell'88 great you got your surge. When will your transfer be? @MrsChino good luck for your scan Tues @cheekyhumour-good luck for Sat. Hope lots of little embies for you to choose from. @Ree888-hope you're over your cold and feeling better. @KitiK-hope you had that glass of wine!
I'm jealous! Maybe buy a bottle and AF will be sure to turn up! @Nezz79-when is your ET? Hope all going well. @Soques-hope your little embies coming along well. @ScubaGal-all the time and $$ spent 'preventing' pregnancy is so jolly frustrating. Obviously all those sex ed teachers at school that made it sound like you could just look at a man and fall pregnant must have been from this magical fertile land! Argh! Hope you're doing well.

Sorry to those I've missed! Hope you're all going well.

You know I've been thinking about sex ed and all the messages we got as young girls about #DONTGETPREGNANT!! and how our generations had the fear put into us about accidental pregnancy... Obviously safe sex is important and you sometimes have to wait to find your person but I feel like the world sort of forgets to tell women *and men* at about age 25 onward that actually pregnancy is not the end of the world, you know ?

It's like, sure we should teach young women that careers are important and to practice safe sex but I think also we've got to tell them that after a certain point it's not something to be afraid of, and we've really got to get the message out to young men too.

My husband is 31 and still thinks he's too young to need to worry about having kids (he does have the emotional age of a 14 year old sometimes) but he just has no sense of biology whatsoever...

So much going on with everyone! Hope everyobe is feeling good.

@soq - how are your embies doing? When is transfer day? Excited about transferring 2? My sister had non identical twins, they are a handfull but we all have so much love for them. Twins would be scary awesome!
@babygirl7 my AF isnt due for another week... sigh feels so long away!
@ladybird77 I did have a glass of wine and think I might have another one tonight...! I figure one here and there isnt going to hurt with potential ET so far away! Think I might go sit on the beach with DH and the kids and have takeout tonight too (I feel like such a rebel!)
@Canuck I did my POAS 3 days before official test date and I got 2-3 weeks on the electonic clear blue. I had the lucrin trigger last time so it was out of my system well and truly by then. Hope the line gets darker xx I will create a new thread for the graduates today and post :-) looks like I might even be the last to join IF I am lucky 2nd time round!

Haha! We were opposite, my DH was desperate for kids, me, I was like 'got plenty of time, dont worry'. I often wonder whether we would have needed IVF if we had started when he wanted (14 years ago!).... such is life I guess.
