    Hey ladies would love to join this group.
    I Was diagnosed with pcos in February and since then I had tried 3 cycles on clomid with no ovulation. I met with mr fs last Monday and he suggested ivf, that came as a huge shock. After completing all the paperwork we have an appointment on the 15/7 to get our regime.
    My question is that a fast transition to ivf, I had read about ovulation induction and thought that would be my next step.
    Also does my hubby's semen analysis influence how they perform the ivf?
    Thanks I look forward to following all of ur journeys

    Hi Sally

    Welcome aboard. I'm in a similar position to you in that we went from 'trying with a good expectation of success' to 'IVF ICSI is our only option' in the space of a day.

    Its a huge shock and its natural to feel a fair bit of grief about it.

    The husbands sperm can play a huge part - but you should have been told about test results if thats the case.

    I understand PCOS can be pretty serious - I don't have it (although I've been told my ovaries "look a bit polycystic" whatever that means, and have been on a strict diet to get my weight down in response' but the other people on this forum with PCOS will know more they can share with you.

    In one sense it might not be so bad if you are going straight to IVF - you may skip many cycles of heartache - but you should understand the science behind the decision.

    If your FS hasn't given you a good enough explanation I'd ask for clarification or a second opinion so you can fully consider your options.

    Whereabouts are you?

    I'm very nervous and excited about this experience. I defiantly don't feel alone, there are so many others out there going through the same hurdles and emotions.

    Have you started ur injections yet? That's one part that doesn't make me nervous, Being a nurse I give injections daily, might be a little different doing it to myself.

    I'm soon eager to get a baby, however it's hard when a lot of it is out of your control. Congrats on sticking to a diet, I had myself on a strict diet and exercise regime however was disheartened when I continued not to ovulate. So I'm allowing myself to drink a glass of wine or eat a chocolate bar in my down times.

    I guess I didn't ask my doctor about other options initially, eager me just wanting to do what ever will give me a little bundle first.

    I'm in Geelong (vic) where abouts are you?

    Can't wait for the day to get off this emotional roller coaster

    welcome @Sally girl

    yes, it is a bit of a shock when you realise IVF is the way forward. Now its seems like life revolves around it . Hopefully your journey will be short and sweet. I have polycystic ovaries but they have never prevented me ovulating so I don't think that was the issue. It may mean you are at risk of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). It may be an advantage in a way with IVF in that you produce a lot of eggs but I am not sure, just something I've always wondered about.

    good luck!

    Hi ladies! I'm jumping over from the June IVF thread, no luck for us last round so hoping #3 will be the one. I recognise some you from last month's thread so I'll do some catchup reading to learn about you all.
    I'm on bcp now and fx will start stimming around 9 July, 300ml gonal f to try to get better response. Last cycle got 7 eggs, 4 were immature and 0 of the 3 mature eggs fertilized so total bomb! We TX our one and only frostie in lieu of fresh Embie and that didn't stick either, so back to square 1.i was devastated but on the other side of it now. New drugs to try this time in addition to last round so feeling positive. We've decided to get a dog so I am spending my time googling dog breeds instead of IVF a much healthier addiction!

    @Ree888 hi! I did accupuncture for 6 months last year in lead up to starting iui's it obviously didn't work but I did find I had a lot less pain with AF. I had a lap in February this year they removed a lot of endo and it has stuffed my tubes, so the accupuncture really was never going to be able to fix my tubes. But I definitely swear by it for reducing the pain. Since my lap the pain has been a lot better so I've let the accupuncture lapse. I did get treatment right before and after my fet last month, bfn but I'll probably still do it again on day of TX.
    I Have been Reading what you have been through with your endo, you have had a really rough time. Did your gynie/FS give any indication on why you got endo it or how to stop it coming back? I know there are no answers out there and my FS just says "you did nothing to cause it, and there is nothing within your control to stop it coming back" but it drives me crazy that in this day and age there is so little known about it!

    Hi @GeorgieNE
    Sorry to hear about your bomb cycle - I can only imagine how devastating that would be - to go through the whole thing and not get a result.

    Definitely Get a Rescue dog!!!!!!!!! Rescues are the best! Depending on where you are I can give you some ideas about good dog adoption agencies
    Happy to PM you details!!

    I've got endo too, and yeah I totally know what you mean about how little is known about it - that and how long it takes for a diagnosis.

    I complained to Drs for years about pain in my guts which occurred during my period (and sometimes not during my period, which until I started tracking my cycle I didn't realise was during ovulation) - and it took decades to find out thats what it was...

    Definitely need more awareness about it.

    @Nezz79 thanks hun, I will be stimming this cycle. Hopefully the break did us some good and we get lucky this cycle 😘
    @MrsChino me and DF haven't told anyone we are doing IVF either, saves us the hassles of not wanting everyone to know and that awkward feeling. But I feel it's best. I find the ladies on bub hub and DF are all I need. great support
    @mummymaybe hope AF arrives soon
    @freakedout44 yep hun, we cycled together previously. Hope this is our lucky one. Fingers crossed. Glad to hear your procedures went well hun. Take it easy.
    @canuck28 well hun hopefully you won't need to do a FET. Fingers crossed your fresh transfer will be the one.
    @Sally girl welcome hun
    @GeorgieNE welcome hun, sorry to hear about your last cycle hun. Hope this cycle is a much better one. And fingers crossed for 3rd time lucky
