My paed said that by the end of the year was his feeling it would be on the schedule. Of course I'm working from his 'hunch' on that one. He would push for me to get it for dd (due to her medical condition) if he thought it was urgent. So I'm kinda trusting him that is going to come on the schedule as I can't afford it.
I don't have any links or anything. Just word of mouth.

I'm not sure it's for all kids or just those under 2? My GP mentioned it for 18mo DS but didn't say anything about 4yo DD (and I didn't think to ask) hmmmm I'll check.

DS has had his first dose. We're still waiting to see how much we get back from the health fund.

Ive actually been speaking to my GP about it and doing some research. She has actually recommended we hold off for a bit because there has been reports of reactions of severe headaches, high temperatures and febrile convulsions and its only currently listed as "may reduce the symptoms of meningococcal"

I am very pro-vax and get all other vax's available (except flu vax) but it worried me that my very pro vax dr was advising us to wait...

I'm interested in this. I called my council immunisation provider and they don't offer this vaccine.
I think I'll have a chat with our paediatrician. I'm hoping that it will be subsidised by our extras cover.

Ohhh I didn't even think about asking health fund....it's a bit like my gym membership, I pay it but never use it

I had the first jab done Monday on my 2.5yo DD. She cried at the time but got over it. She was a bit grumpy that night and the next day but she's also very tired from her cousins staying with me. She got sent home from care yesterday with a fever but when I picked her up she was fine, so think it was just a small spike. Her arm has a big red patch but it doesn't seem to be bothering her.

@Wise Enough how is she now? I have the prescriptions for the shots for my youngest and will get it as part of her 12 month needles.
