I did that over 6 months and ate eggs for breakfast, sometimes with bacon or even some vegetables, nuts and cheeses and limited fruit, or even chicken drumsticks for snacks, dinner was just normal meals minus the carbs plus extra veg (eg, bolognaise with vegetable and no speghetti ). Because I was working in an area with lots of diverse food options and we had disposable income (remember that?) I would often buy lunch like a kebab plate with the meat and salad and no bread, or vegetable juice with protein or something like a stirfry, or even a salad bowl from subway.

    Sugarfree chocolate after dinner

Had one pikelet from the batch that I made for the kids, had to at least taste test one!

I did a very low carb diet 5-6 years ago and then I got pregnant and much of the 27 kgs that I lost found their way back to me. On this diet I was very restricted and had no bread, rice, pasta, potato no milk, no yogurts, etc. I also checked regularly with urine tests to make sure I was in the weight loss zone but I think this time I may have very small serves of carb foods and unsweetened yogurt for snacks.

I swore I wouldn't do very low carb again because it is so hard to maintain but here I am.

    I haven't weighed in for a starting weight.....because I don't want to know.

    Welcome!

Just curious, what did you find hard to maintain about low carb eating?

Convenience foods. and preparing foods for my daughter to eat who is absurdly fussy but will eat pasta, potato, rice occasionally, cous cous. I reintriduced carbs when I got pregnant, felt I needed the energy from them when breastfeeding for 20 months and then just didn't go back.

The first time I did the ketosystem which a naturopath put me on to. She was spurring me on and doing weigh ins when I went for appointments.

Yesterday I didn't take enough snacks to have afternoon tea at work and the biscuit barrel was calling my name but oddly enough the vending machine saved me with a packet of nuts, seeds and fruit. Who would have ever thought that a vending machine could be a savior.

    Hi SPG

Going well so far today. Am feeling sick though which is probably helping to curb my appetite.

    B- bacon and eggs
    S - a few strawberries
L - cauliflower soup and cheese
    S - ham
D - not sure. Will probably just do eggs on toast for the kids for an easy Saturday night dinner as DH is away. I might have poached eggs and see how I go hunger wise.

    So today I had
    Bacon and eggs
    Nuts and cheese
    Chicken Soup
    Yogurt
    Fish and steamed veg.

I made some bliss balls to have as a little sweet with a cup of tea. Dates are still very carb rich but the balls have lots of almond meal in them too so hopefully one won't have to much of an impact.
