KaraB it appears from your questions that you do not have a clear goal in mind in terms of how many grams of carbs you would like to eat in a day. No food is "good" or "bad" and no food is "off limits" you just need to decide how many grams of carbs you would like to eat in a day and try and stick to it.

The amount of carbs one can eat in a day and lose weight is different for everybody but I would suggest you start by trying to eat about 40 to 50 grams per day and if that doesn't work then reduce the amount of carbs you are eating.

I try to consume under 30g a day Kara and I've been losing around 2kg a week. I do eat protein, I eat eggs every day and often a piece of good steak or a chicken breast. I would think huge amounts of protein are bad, but if you are changing it up with salads and vegies too you'll be fine.

That's because I was hoping to not have to count calories and stuff but it appears that I do :/ I thought it might have been enough to not be eating carbs for the most part..

    What do you normally eat?

You'd be surprised how many carbs you eat without realising it.

Body trim recommends starting by eating protein only for 3 days. The weight will drop off if you do this and then maintain by eating a protein breakfast and a salad and protein for lunch, then low carb veges and protein for dinner and a few protein snacks in between.

I usually eat well with a lot of rubbish in between and vanilla chai lattes lol.

Normally it doesn't impact me too much because my metabolism is pretty good. But I just had a baby and I have around 8 kilos to shed possibly more before I get back to my normal weight which is between 58 and 61 kilos. So my usual semi crap eating has meant that the weight isn't going anywhere yet . I'd be ok with 63 at this point because my boobs are still ginormous due to breastfeeding lol.

Over the last week I've cut bread, pasta, milk products and sweet drinks. I only drink water and sugar free soft drink now. I eat eggs for breakfast and snack on smallish portions of protein and salad during the day. I just need more options for snacks and I don't have too many ideas on what they could be. I also don't know how much of anything I should be eating :/

What kind of shake? Is it lactose free milk or something?
