It is essentially anonymous but you get to choose your donor from a comprehensive profile where they outline family medical history, personal medical history, a bit about their hobbies, looks, likes/dislikes, reasons for donating, you see baby photos through to when they are about 8, but no adult photos. You also get a donation history from the agency showing how many donations/pregnancies from donations etc.

All done, one really good 2d, 4 cell embie on board, so begins the tww. The other 4 frosties are also really good quality with almost no fragmentation among them.
I managed to upset the doctor and scientist with the questions I was asking about doing another EPU if this cycle failed. Seems I shouldn't have been on the donor wait list if I hadnt yet given up on my own eggs as that means I was not ready. Makes sense I suppose....

Good luck @leyshoja ! Hope everything goes well for you. I have a couple of friends that have babies from the donor path, and they are so happy. One always says that it may have been a donor egg, but it is her blood that flows through her daughters veins.

Lol and whose job was it to establish this and/or inform you of that?

    Congratulations on being PUPO

    Congratulations on being pupo!
When would someone entirely give up on their own eggs? Age 50? When all the money has run out? Pfft, it's not black and white.

I agree, why on earth couldn't I try with my own once more, now that I've got some good embies as backup. Does that mean that I'm not allowed to try naturally between FET's also ?! Apparently I was 'informed' that they wouldn't do any more EPU's if I was on the donor waiting list - like hell I was. I would have remembered that ! I still feel like a naughty child after that conversation yesterday, which makes me a bit angry. I've given them a tonne of money and am paying them for a service, why can't I choose my own treatment options.
I have the same opinion about only 1 embryo being transferred. Why can't I have two !!! If there is only a 1 in 3 chance of success, and I'm prepared to take the risk of twins, isn't that my concern, not theirs ..? They will consider it if I have to do another FET after this one, so why not consider it now ? Personally I think they do it so that I HAVE to pay for another cycle. Rant over.

@leyshoja - I agree, it annoys me how sanctimonious the clinics can get about what is 'best for you' - I think we should decide what is or isn't in our best interests. I had the same naughty school kid feel after being scolded by a counsellor at Melb ivf for having had a boyfriend whilst on the single girl/sperm donor path. I was told I had to be out of a relationship for 3 months before they would let me continue.

@leyshoja - luckily I had been out of the relationship for a couple months already - we had actually started ivf proceedings as a couple then we split so there was no hiding it. But I was annoyed they were forcing that on me.
