Hi @Angels4me I'm in a similar boat only it took 4 goes to get preggers the first time, I'm up to my 5th cycle now to get a second (so I guess I was expecting it to be much more of a struggle)

Have you had any chemicals or miscarriages at all? If the blastocysts aren't implanting you might want to have surgery to investigate if you have endometriosis.

Also have you tried changing clinics? Might be good to shake things up a bit.

Also I've heard 'natural killer cells' mentioned a lot on these forums, I don't know if one of the other ladies can give you a bit more detail on that.

I'm sorry you are having such a hard time.

Hi @ Bongley thanks for your reply :-) I have never had a chemical or a miscarriage and after the first few attempts at number 2 I had a laparoscopy which found some endo, he also gave me a good clean out but still nothing but bfn :-( my dp had a vasectomy a long time ago which is why we did ivfin the first place so we have had to do pesa/tesa which means his sperm isn't great but it has worked once so why not again. I got a second opinion with another fs but he said there wasn't anything really that he would do differently. I'm fast running out of time and money and just don't know what to do. I am so sorry to hear that you are also having difficulty trying to get number 2, I hope you get your bfp soon :-)

Eta- I will ask today about the natural killer cells, thanks :-)

@Angels4me I find it odd that you've had so many blastocysts put back in without even a hint of implantation but I dunno, maybe its not that unusual.

    good luck

I think its odd to, there has to be a reason why they aren't taking, I just wish I could figure out why.

    Hi Angels 4 me,

What a frustrating journey. Fantastic that you can grow your eggs to blast that is something that I have never been able to achieve so I have only been able to have 3dt. I agree with Bongley it is unusual for you not to have a bfp at any stage even if it ended as a chem preg.

On my last cycle the only thing I changed was to add aspirin as my Fs said that it increased the blood flow through to the uterus and increased the chances of embryo implantation. I also added acupuncture for the same reasons. This resulted in my first ever bfp.

I have heard others mention success with an endo scratch and that was something I was going to discuss with my Fs if my last cycle failed. I have not had one but I believe (others can correct me if I am wrong) that it adds a roughness to the endomentrium surface which gives the embryo a better chance of attaching than it would have to a smoother surface. Many ladies have had success with this.

AFM I have had light bleeding for the last 2 nights in a row. Rang FS and was told to just hang in there. If they scan now at 5 weeks they are unlikely to see a hb (too early) and it will just cause me more distress. They advised if I am still having bleeding at the end of the week to go in for a hcg test just to see if my levels are normal. So now I just wait until scan next Monday. A week is a long time to think, stress and wonder if every pain means this is it, it is over. This ivf business does my head in!

Hang in there Fudge, we're all cheering for you.
Angel I have had 2 failed cycles, endo scratch on both. It's to increase blood flow to the uterus as this is what happens when your body try's to heal itself. I've had 3 put back at 3dt, all looking good & strong, no hint of any pregnancy. Currently in 2ww with 2 4 day embies on board. They were growing nicely too, just hoping one sticks this time. I think at our age the chance of getting pregnant through ivf is only about 20-30%. So I think you were amazingly lucky to get a baby on the first go. Hope your next cycle is just as lucky ☺️

Angels4me.... I've had 10 cycles now (my OE, donor eggs and donor sperm), with not a hint of implantation, so I really shake my head as to whether I can give any advice at all :-(

The one thing I haven't ever done is acupunture, and I have read many on here really believe that is worth a shot. I really hate needles, just the thought of it, makes to go queasy, however, I'm really wondering if I should be brave and give it a go. My FET is booked in for this Friday, so what is everyone's advice, 1) considering I've never had acupuncture at all before, 2) can I just go for a before and after transfer sessions, I've heard 24 hours before transfer and 1 hour after transfer - is that about right?, 3) would any acupuncture place do IVF type, or do I need to find a specialised acupuncture place?

Bertie I've never been a fan of needles either, but did acupuncture the whole way through my last cycle (I guess I thought If I could do the needles with the meds I could do anything). It really is amazingly relaxing. I didn't do it this cycle, but for cost reasons. I did do a session before ET as our new FS is in another town, and that's the only appointment I could get. I did a bit of research online & made a couple of calls before deciding on a practitioner. I would definitely go for someone who specialises in ivf acupuncture though. They don't hurt, so just lay back, relax and enjoy

Angels, my story is almost identical to yours although I did have low AMH and I didn't have great numbers. I transferred some good quality blasts which showed no attempt at implantation but by my last attempts my quality was very poor. Still, I felt it was an implantation problem. I was about to give up on #2 but convinced DH we should get a second opinion. New FS sent me for a specialized ultrasound which showed moderate to severe adenomyosis which they believe affects implantation. 6 months on zoladex implants then I cycled again. BFP with pretty average quality embryos and gorgeous 4 month old sleeping upstairs. There is a thread about adenomyosis on here. I'm sure it's what was causing my problem. Definitely worth looking in to. Good Luck!
