Fudge09.... welcome and I'm glad that our stories have helped. You'll find lots of great support and advice here. An AMH of 23 is amazing!!! Egg quality then seems to be related to two things 1) getting the stimming protocol right - slow and steady to produce a small number or good eggs, rather than a lot of eggs that aren't right, and 2) trying a number of meds in the months leading up to EPU to imporve quality, e.g. DHEA, testogel, and no doubt others will mention other things. Good luck for EPU - not long then?

Ertgirl.... thanks for your thoughts - having BFNs still don't get much easier, but I guess the recovery period is quicker. How did you go at your FS appointment. Do you have a bit of a plan for next time?

    Thanks for the welcome ladies!

Bertie I must confess to not being up to speed on the various protocols. I have seen different ones mentioned but don't have a strong understanding of the differences/variatons etc. That is why it is so great to be on this thread and able to ask questions.

I have been stimming since 27/07 and am scheduled for EPU on Friday 8/08 although after my scan it was suggested that if I still have not advanced enough at my next scan (on Tuesday) this may be pushed back to Monday 11/08. I will know more then. I am currently on 450 Gonal/cetritide/75 Luveris and aspirin.

Thanks for the roll call out was wonderful to see so many UTD or new mums.

Good luck to Soph and Precious I will follow your progress! Thanks for the well wishes Biscotti. Faith I hope you are right about the extra follies. Fingers crossed that there is more on Tuesday.

I hope I haven't missed anyone but I can't always read the replies when using my phone.

My old FS gave me a script for dhea but I am still pondering over whether to use it. Has anyone had experience with side effects? I am not a poor ŕesponder so am wondering what benefits there are and if it's worth trying given the long list of possible side effects.

Faith..... sorry I can't advice, as I never took DHEA myself, primarily because I believe it needs a good 3 months to take effect, and I never had that time between my cycles.

AFM.... I went and saw my FS today (Prof I at IVFA) and made a plan for our next FET:
    - FS said to keep Clexane at 40, even though Dr M has said to increase it to 60 (so will be going with 60)
    - FS said to keep Aspirin 100, though Dr M has said not to do that, as we're doing increased Clexane (so will not do aspirin)
    - FS said to do Pregnyl x 3 (to help boost natural progesterone) first injection two days before FET, then other two on d2 and d5 after FET
    - FS said not to do progesterone pessaries, but Dr M says 400 per day (so will be doing them)
    - FS and Dr M both say do the endo scratch, so booked that in for d21 with FS
    - FS won't test me for NKC CD57 (he says it doesn't give any info, even though I told him it's the ratio between CD56 and CD57 that's important, but I think he didn't know that). Dr M would have liked that, so will phone G tomorrow and see what she says about getting Dr M to do this, since FS won't
    - FS says Intrallipids are "snake oil", and went on and on about no research or stats etc (he sure doesn't know how much reading I've done, and that I've been having it for the past four cycles!!). Any other patient would have left it there, but because Bubhubbers have said that IVFA are doing trials I pushed the issue, and eventually he agreed that IVFA have been discussing it, but that's as far as he would go. When I started talking about IVIG, it was clear that he really didn't know a lot, as he kept on about none of that working. In the end, I said, "well they give IVIG plasma infusions for cancer patients, leukemia etc, so it must do something." Anyhow, no win there, but hopefully I've paved the way for others to follow. (so will be doing IVIG with Dr M)

Well, I think that was it. Except that my FS has agreed that if these two FETs don't work, that he will let me do an IUI, while I organise going to SA. I think primarily he agreed to it, as peace of mind, that we'd tried everything. Yes, normally people do IUI first and then go to IVF/ICSI, but we started with IVF/ICSI due to DH only ever getting one or two sperm. But since I have regular periods, he's willing to try, though he did say success rate for IUI is only about 10% (mind you, so far my success rate for 10 cycles is 0%, so 10% is better than what I've had so far!!)
