faithandhopellove, I'm sorry to hear about the low fert rate. I had one cycle with pretty dismal fert rates too. Hope they keep growing and dividing.

Faithhopeandlove.... yes, fingers crossed, as there's plenty of women on Bubhub who only had one at the end, but that one turned into a baby. Not me though, though it can happen :-))

Wouldn't it be great in a way to fall naturally and have to cancel your ivf cycle?? Def go get a POAS and let us know.

I start the mega dose tomorrow morning, off to pick up my needles now actually! Can't believe I'm about to do it all over again!! Yay!!! I think

I'll be watching this space for your experience too if POAS is negative for you - when is AF due?
Hey @Kelly70..how's the jabbing and mega dose treating you? Feeling any different this time in any way?
AFM - did a POAS yesterday but it was neg. - thankfully. Sorry if the molar was too much info - it's pretty freaky tiki!
I'm happy today. BUT my lower tummy is sooo achey and tender. I'm ringing FN tomorrow if it still hurts when I bend over or walk quickly...hmm.
Do those drugs play havoc or what!!
Still waiting for AF so I can get cracking.
Hi to all you other lovelies on here

HI Ladies, Good luck to all those doing their cycles. I'm about to start my first IVF cycle once AF shows which should be in the next week or so. FS is going to start on Synarel Nasal Spray has anyone else used this? Any side effects with it? I've done Ovidrel and Pureon injections before and had mild side effects nothing too bad just a bit of bloating really.

Hi Twinkley, I had synarel on my first round. I got headaches and the worst period pain I have ever had. The headaches are one of the common side effects but the period pain might just have been coincidental. Don't lèt that put you off though. I have heard pèople say that they had no problem. I have since had two other medications with no side effects. Everyone is different and so is every cycle. Good luck with this round.

    Hi there,

I am 45 years old TTC #1 for more years than I care to count - naturally (ectopic and uterine miscarriages) and more recently 2 IVF rounds (now as a single woman) last September and this year in February. I didn't proceed to extraction in either round as in round 1 (from memory - nasal spray, gonal F,puregon) the 2 follicles were too small and in round 2 (different medications - orgalutran/puregon/pregnyl - plus high dose of CoQ10/melatonin) there were three follicles - 2 were two small and 1 was a good size but I had already ovulated when the ultrasound was taken. Heartbreak.

I turn 46 in January. Monash IVF specialist Kate McIlwane - Geelong branch - has said they will only proceed with another round if I agree to proceed to extraction even if there is only one follicle of the right size. And presumably if there is no viable follicle it is the last round they will agree to. I can't do any more procedures to extract my own eggs after I turn 46.

I have started process of applying for permission to advertise for an egg donor and looking at other options - World Egg Bank etc. I found out today I cannot go on Monash IVF's embryo donor list because I am older than 44. Devastated.

On the one hand it feels pointless to try extracting my own eggs again. On the other hand I am thinking I should seek a second opinion and try one more time. Try acupuncture as well this time just to be able to know I did everything I could.

I am fit, healthy and young - I feel fitter and younger than ever - just not my eggs it seems.

I'd welcome input from anyone who has been in my situation who could offer a new perspective or recommend a specialist who might try other medications and options.

I had to go on the contraceptive pill to time my cycle as Geelong branch of Monash IVF only do extractions once a month. The pill gave me depression symptoms so my specialist has agreed I won't have to take the pill next time and I can have the procedure at another clinic - is that a good move or should I try and tolerate the pill to make the timing work best (it didn't stop me ovulating last time!)?

    So many more questions...

Hello BlueWombat - wow, I feel for you.

I just wanted to suggest you check the conditions and possibilities around embryo donation at Melb IVF - I've looked at it briefly and I'm sure the age cut off was 46.. Although there is a wait I think. 44 seems a bit harsh, I'm surprised to hear that.

Bluewombat - I am in NSW so can't help you with your queries, a lot of ladies have gone overseas for egg donation, so I am sure they are much better to give you some thoughts and ideas. best of Luck.... I had good news this morning, both my eggs are continuing to grow. One 8 cell and one 7 cell. And there is another that is 5 cell but probably won't get to freeze, but that's ok I am extremely happy with 2 good cell eggs. Good luck as always ladies xox

Update: At 9 am this morning our 3 eggs were at 6 cells (2) and 5 cells. We are happy as none have arrested yet. Last time day 3 is all they got to. praying hard that they all make it. @GnH sounds like you're doing really well too. Double celebration time.
@bluewombat. I'm afraid I dont have any advice as I am also in NSW but sending hugs your way.

@bluewombat, sorry I'm in nsw and don't know too much bp about donor egg/embryo's although I'm sure there is possibly a thread on here about it!

On your own egg side of things this is what I have taken over the last few cycles and I've gone from 2 eggs to 7 on my last epu, with 5 fertilised and about to be thawed and transferred.

    I added vitamins
Ubiquinol 4x150mg it is a better form of coq10 but expensive!
    Melatonin
    4x 150mg fish oil
    Vit d3 x 2
    Caltrate plus x2
    Magnesium x 2
    Pregnancy multi
    Extra folate -megaflol 5mg
    Zinc
    Vit c
    Vit e

    Subscriptions
Dhea for three months before last pick up
    Saizen human growth hormone
    Gonal f 450mg
    Lucrin (never ovulated early)

I have done long down (on pill) and short cycles and it hasn't really made that much difference to number, but I think quality has been better on long down for me.

I wish you all the very best.
