Yep, that's right. There is no annual bill anymore. We can pay our shire rates annually and get a discount (not that it's much of a discount) but the water ones are now just 2 monthly, same as the electricity bills. No idea why the changed it, it just suddenly changed a while ago. I was so confused when we first got our new bills!

I'm in wa and the useage portion only was $136 last bill for 3ppl

Service charges (ie rates side of things) included both water and sewerage so yes I would assume owner pays both those charges

Yep, I'd say that's the case. The owner might not actually realise - I didn't realise at first (especially since we pay hardly anything for water and there's no sewerage in the hills when we live) but they now say "Water Use and Service Charge Account" at the top, instead of just "Water Use". There's a small amount of info on it on the Water Corp website (not very easy to understand though). You'll probably need to ask the owner for copies of the water bills to see how much you should have paid. Sorry I can't tell you exactly when they changed the system - I'm pretty sure it was mid-late last year, but I can't remember exactly when!

    The water use charge
    Water residential

As a renter do I pay for the last one (sewerage) ?? I'm in WA if that makes a difference

I've never looked before just payed what the owner has asked for with next rent
I also rent and I pay for- water use residential and state excess water....NOT sewerage, the landlord should pay for that.

@bunkx also, I just realised, the owner can email the water corp and tell them they want the water USE bill changed to your name as the tenant. They just need to email them with your name, contact number, property address and the date you moved in. That way the bill for consumption only should come to you to pay direct... That might be a better way of doing it if the owner will agree.

Some of ours is! Except for that time last month....when I accidentally turned the wrong tap and lost 1/4 of the rainwater out of the huge tank....and realised maybe I should have been listening when my DH was showing me all about the retic he'd installed and how to turn it on and off, instead of just nodding and thinking about what was for dinner.
