    Awesome..
He has taken so much off me.. So I am
    Bitter and angry.

How about also looking after mums who already have kids..
Or does he only look after well off partnered women.

@clbj would you share who's your employer via private message? I'm very interested!!

I agree, I don't understand why the gvt would try and prevent employers to offer extra benefits. Like you I think (hope) that would get challenged and not passed.

I don't believe TA really thinks that at all. I believe he knows and always knew it would never come into fruition and so used it as an election ploy to win over female voters.

That might be right but I'm happy the discussion is going in the right direction despite TA own beliefs

I think ppl should be capped at $40k ($50 max) it's up there with the baby bonus, they shouldn't be paying people to have babies.
Sick leave and annual leave is earned, some people may not want kids or can't have kids why should they miss out on 12mths of paid leave.

I'm lucky to get leave from my employer and govt ppl. But, I agree with pp, that it should be made mandatory for all employers to provide ppl at full pay (duration? I'm not sure, but would like to think it would be a minimum of 12 weeks) With the option to extend at half pay.

The money the govt would save could then go back into ftb for lower income families and child care subsidies to encourage mums back into the work force.

So I don't understand the argument that millionaires are being given incentives to have a baby when they lose income.
Exactly this! I think it's fair to be paid ppl on what you earn. It will be fair for all.

It's like saying it's not fair I'm missing out on sick leave as I didn't get sick this year...
