I PMSL at some of the things some people try to sell on my page for exorbitant prices.

Even just did a quick search now.

This item is for sale for $90 and you can buy it in toys r is for $99.99

What if someone didn't have a sob story and wanted something cheaper than it was being offered, they came and picked it up, but then sold it for a profit, do people think that's ok? I do, as long as they don't lie and say they're poor if they're not, also as long as they are a stranger. I wouldn't be happy if a friend did that.

Asking exact details and pictures of each item.... come on people its free. I ended up giving it to a lovely young girl with a new bub who was extremely appeciative. I promised her any other clothes I give away straight up.

Eta: agree with the pay it forward too. We were stuggling with money when we had dd. Our family friends gave us a matching cot and change table that was given to them second hand. They said that when we finish with it give it away also so it can help out another family in need.... I love that idea and I def will once I'm done with it!

Maybe it's from being in the cloth nappy world, but the only suitable thing to do with a random act of kindness (RAOK)...is to pass it on to someone else in a random act of kindness. You don't profit from RAOK's, ever.

Maybe it's the area I live in but I've never seen anyone say they are really poor (genuine or not) on my local page and asking for free things?

I saw a lady begging for things she was like 8 months preg and apparently had nothing
She got so many replies!! But didn't want any of it because it wasn't white!?!
I totally agree if your that desperate you'd take what you can get if you want something in particular go and get a job earn money and buy the one you want.
If someone is that poor they can't afford $50 say on a cot (which you would get a nice decent second hand one for that) you can't be choosy on colours!

Also agree that some people might want certain things in particular for there baby but don't beg and expect it for free.
Also understand people don't want crappy too far used but all this stuff people were offering were still in great cond!
