Sorry to hear you've been in so much pain. I was officially diagnosed with it in 2010. but have had symptoms for over 10 years prior.

Thank you for your comment Wow! I couldn't imagine having it for that long I'm so sorry! i have been in hospital twice now for severe pain its horrible. I find my self living in bed most days. I'm on endone, paracetamol and ibuprofen and the only thing to take away the pain is endone but it makes me throw up. I only got married not even a year ago and my concern is mainly fertility

Fertility was my main concern as well. We had been ttc for a year, then had a lap and fell pregnant 12 months after that. Have you had a lap recently? Did they remove endo?

If you're on Facebook, there's some really good support groups.

If you want pain relief, then you need to have a lap done with someone who specializes in endometriosis. I was 100% better after my last lap and I had stage 4 endometriosis. A good specialist can really make a big difference

Hi lilybug, I have just been diagnosed with Adenomyosis which is similar but in the uterus. I have only had a ultrasound but am seeing the gynaecologist July 28 (not for ages!). I haven't had severe pain yet but I've been struggling with back and hip pain due to other conditions so it could be combined. I have been on the pill for 13 years so it has been suppressing it.

I really feel for you, pain absolutely sucks. I struggled with my back particularly and now have been in chronic pain for 13 months! I'm doing OK, working full time but some days I do not want to get out of bed! The key for me was to take pain killers religiously not when I experienced pain, it helped to prevent and lower pain.

    Best wishes

I had endometriosis and terrible pain through every period. Try and get the lap surgery as soon as you can. Best thing I did (had severe endo on both ovaries) and fell pregnant first go afterwards. waited 3 yrs to try again and no problems with conceiving later. I heard it can and most likely will return but positive stories here. I hope you can get some relief soon!!

@Lilybug198 sorry to hear you've been diagnosed - its normal to experience grief and anger with that, and it can be tough when you've only just gotten married to start having such difficult stuff (incl. fertility worries) to deal with. Get support where you can, sometimes it takes a DH a while to really get what you're going through. I definitely recommend asking your GP for a referral to a good Reproductive Endocrinologist who specialises in endometriosis. I see you're in the ACT, I'm happy to give you the name of my Sydney based Dr (PM me) who was just fantastic, if you like.

    Good luck with it all.

@Lilybug198 - I have just being told by the doctor that I may have endo, as everything else is fine but I get very painful periods and my progesterone levels drop really low after ovulation and they shouldn't. Very scared! I am booked to see the doctor on the 29th July and I will have to get keyhole surgery to see if I have endo and if only a small amount they will burn off then, if to much I will have to go back for surgery. I am also a type 1 diabetic.
