I do like the name Austin, calling out "Alice, Austin" seems more natural as well.

I don't know anyone of any age with those names. I don't mind Austin but I don't like having siblings with matching initials (Alice and Austin) so I vote Hugh

    Hugh
    Austin
    Brett

    I know 2 x 4yo Austin, 1 x 3yo Hugo and and 4 x 30yo+ brett's.

I think Hugh or Hugo go best with Alice.

    I like Hugh the best.

I don't think any of the names are common.

I like Hugh the best but they're all very nice!

Austin and Alice reminds me of the Disney show Austin and Ally. (Haha yes I'm admitting I watch Disney Channel..)

The show is pretty popular right now, obviously not for adult who will make their kids Austin, but for kids aged about 9 up.

(Anyone who knows about done shows, falls into the same category as sonny with a chance, shake it up, and Hannah Montana)

I think all 3 are reasonably uncommon

Also, have you considered Hugo as opposed to Hugh?

    Other strong names I like:
    Mitchell
    Owen
    Patrick
    Angus
    Archer
    Harvey

    Hey Bel!

We had Owen and Harvey in the lust originally but I recently met a little turd called Owen and Harvey everyone said Harvey Norman

Archer, Angus and Patric are rather Celtic as is our surname so we want to steer clear.

I just mentioned Mitchel to DH and he said no.

Another PO mentioned Hugo but DH also doesn't like that

We had Albert on the list as its a family name and met our criteria, but was far too matchy matchy with Alice, I agree Austin is too but I love it so much, which is why I'm confused
