Anyway, my reply was specific to the one line in Vicpark's reply (not her entire reply, I pointed out I saw where she was coming from and happen to agree with the gross aspect etc) that I have already outlined.
Don't know why you're assuming I'm OK with the marrying "poor/ unsuspecting women" I didn't even touch on that or add any thoughts regarding that.
You're assuming that because I disagree with the "gays should just grow some balls" sentence that am for the public toilet hookups.

Think about it, they would rather be dead than have to reveal their lifestyle. That must be an excruciating way to live, having to hide your true self from the world.
I think that was a poor choice of words and very offensive.

Yeah poor choice of words. Come to think about it, it's not *all* about balls. At the same time the men that screw in the public toilets aren't martyrs to be revered. They aren't the poster boys for gay men. They are male $lut$ plain and simple. I do feel for gay men that don't conduct themselves in the gutter, they get a bad rep from this sort of stuff.

My only concern about the whole thing is one of my young sons walking in on something like that, so I asked my father if he'd ever come across a 'beat' and he hasn't, in 69 years.

    I quite like those odds

Same. I do feel for the non-sleazy gay community who would never partake in such behaviour. I know plenty of people who have struggled with feeling on the outer due to their sexuality, I know plenty of people who have struggled with all sorts of things in life. But to associate this behaviour with 'the gays' is just plain offensive. It's worse that so many 'gay' websites do it too - it's not because they're gay, it's because they're disconnected dirty pervs, who don't give a stuff what the community thinks of them loitering in the community toilet blocks.

I live near a well known nudist beach and I will not take my kids down there or the beaches near there. There are men in the bushes, men on the beach perving and hooking up. It's disgusting.

I attended a picnic in inner city Adelaide last year near a well known winery and bumped into a beat there too. Kids playing on the green while men getting in and out of cars going to and from the toilet block. It was like a factory line! Disgusting!

I agree with the sentiments posted by Ellewood. I have gay friends who are horrified by this behaviour and feel ashamed by it. Gay is one thing, dirty perv is another. The latter are those hanging around toilet blocks and parklands. In my opinion, this carry on is not conducive to a safe environment for the community to enjoy.

I'll be honest and say I too have clearly been living under a rock. I'm gobsmacked! I know gay people I have nothing against gay people. But this is just disgusting and disturbing. I feel for these wives who are led to believe that their husbands are working or have gone to the gym, but in actual fact have gone down to the local park. Children play in these parks, mums sit with their kids and have lunch, I personally love to sit at the park and read my book. There are other places they can have sex!

i do believe it is a lot more common that most people think! Certainly I was exposed to a lot of this with my studies. I'm very glad I was exposed to it at a young age too!
I do have empathy for those men having sex in public places. I know a lot of you wouldn't agree. But I'm sure it's not the most ideal place to be having sex to them either, a dirty public toilet.
The thing is, it's not just gay men who perform sex acts in public where children/vulnerable etc and all the previous 'categories' mentioned are in proximity. I know many of my heterosexual friends who have done such things in public lifts!
I'm just so pleased that places like steamworks exist so that there is a safer place to go for men who have sex with men. There is a clinic inside this place which I didn't mention, that tests for STIs and they provide condoms and sex health education too. Unfortunately, this wouldn't exist in all places in Australia. So, I guess they go where they know there's going to be a no strings attached scenario.

This. No one can really know what goes on inside someone else's relationship.
