It took them 8 weeks after 'x date' to start giving my employer the money so that they could pay me! Urgh!

ETA I think with centrelink there really isn't consistency with these things. I know people who got their payments very quickly.
Yep, this was my experience too, although my payments started 4 weeks after x date rather than the 8 you had to wait. So frustrating when you are absolutely sweating on it. I was calling back and forth between Centrelink and my employer to figure out what was going on, Centrelink was saying they had sent work the money and work was saying Centrelink hadn't sent the money.

I found the centrelink 'App' a godsend for this reason. You can track all payments that have been made from centrelink to your employer. Each are dated and the amount can be viewed. The first payment to your employer is also a double payment so they can always be a pay ahead to avoid missed payments. I would check now and then just to make sure the money was still coming. Once I saw the date centrelink sent it I knew it was coming from my employer the following fortnight. Was also good to know when they were about to stop.

I downloaded the app but can't link it to my online account. Getting into centrelink in my town is impossible, I've never gotten further than the bouncer type they have at the front, who just tells me to go online! I would feel so much better if I could just talk to someone who could tell me it's all been done & there won't be any glitches when baby is born, but I guess they don't really work that way.

Hahaha! I hate those people at the door, going in there is bad enough but they are so annoying and intimidating...The whole process is just a hassle if you have ever tried to call them that's a whole another story, useless!
