Default How long for PPL to start?

I know this one has been asked before, but I'm wondering if anyone has any recent experience with PPL? I am due 6th July & applied online, I know my employer got the details from centrelink cos the office manager called to let me know. So how long did your PPL take to start after you dropped the required proof of birth into centrelink? Things are a bit tight for us right now as we are building & handover looks like 30th June, it would be nice to know what sort if timeframe we're looking at for PPL to kick in.

    Just getting mine this week.
    At 10 weeks!!.
They say it takes an average of 28-32 days to process, then it is sent to your employer then they have to wait until the next pay day

If I may ask another PPL related question (sorry to hijack OP) - can you elect to have it paid direct through centrelink? I am the only employee of the consultant that I work for - does he still have to process the payments?

I just went through PPL with birth of my son. If you have the centrelink app on your phone all you need to do is take a picture of the proof of birth that the midwife signs and upload it. (Saves you having to go into centrelink?!) I submitted mine a week after he was born and I had a payment within 3 weeks. (This was end of last year mind you) x

And yes, apparently you can recieve payments directly from centrelink as per our accounts lady at work. (Hope she is correct?!) She said it was up to me. But so long as you have all your documents submitted and forms filled out the process is relatively easy for your employer to do it as soon as they start receiving your payments.

I had mine paid directly from center link after the birth of my son in August last year.
It took us about 8 weeks to get payment, we did call after 28 days and said there had been "a lot" of births and payments to process

Sent from my Nexus 5 using The Bub Hub mobile app

Yes I filled out all of the relevant forms way before the birth of my son and submitted them so they were ready to go, all I needed to do when he did arrive was submit the proof of birth from the hospital and it was approved very quickly.
