    Default <12 weeks & bleeding - baby #2

    Hi Everyone

I am pregnant with baby #2 but its still very early - approx 6 weeks now.

I have been having some bleeds but didnt have any (that I can recall) with my first. I stressed about it last week so the doc sent me to get my dating scan early and to just check that I hadnt miscarried - they said it was all good and all consistent with what it should look like at 5 weeks. I have another scan in a couple of weeks for dating and viability...

Did anyone else experience bleeds/spotting in the 1st trimester? What is the cause? Should I worry?

Also, my doc gave me note to take the week off and rest but I thought that was a bit dramatic? Should I be worried?

Would love to hear your experiences and to get some advice.

    Thanks

I had bleeding around 6-7 weeks for ten days straight then again for a few days at 10 weeks. And i'm holding my 4 month old ds now. If the scan was good I wouldn't worry. Bleeding in early pregnancy is quite common and can be caused by many things, such an irritable cervix (tbh I think mine may have been caused by a combination of constipation irritating my cervix) but I never found out why.

Try and keep positive...I know its hard & its very scary (i was certain i was miscarrying) but there is a very good chance everything is fine.

Thank you so much and I'm sorry about the late reply.

We had a scan last week and we're progressing well. We even saw the heartbeat (130bpm)

I've had spotting since 5 weeks and 5 days and then on Friday last week I had some pain and passed a blood clot then the pain went away and I bed dark red for 5 minutes or so and it's been spotting ever since. I had a scan and sac was still there ect and my hcg went for 6464 to 30,898 in 4 days so looks like things are going in the right direction but I'm still worried.

I do have a double cervix so not sure if it's just super irritated and that.
