Default Cushion recommendations to match brown leather couches

Just wanting some advice from people more creative than me -

We have chocolate brown couches & a cream coloured rug in our lounge, over floor boards.

I'm wanting some advice on cushion colours / cheap ornament ideas to brighten the room up - it looks a bit drab & also pretty dark with the couches.

What colours could I put with chocolate brown leather? I really like the "deliberately mis-matching" type of looks, when people use contrasting colours, but I'm no good with working out what does / doesn't work

I have a voucher for a homewares shop I got for my birthday, so I have some guilt free shopping I can do

I would probably go with some yellow in some sort of different interesting patterns in a mismatched sort of look iykwim?
I'll see if I can find a pic to show you what I mean.

I have chocolate in my house too. I've swapped with some cream with sage green accents or dark red or pale blues and cream.

I too like to get away from things being too 'matchy matchy' and clashing sometimes looks pretty good. I agree yellow could be a good decision and I really love orange. You could then mix these base cushion colours with Moroccan style or indian patterns and a bright colourful woven exotic throw. Go for a bright coloured lamp and some nice bright glazed pots growing succulents. It's amazing the decor you can get in op shops. A bright fluffy or oriental rug always looks good. Mirrors always look nice too.

brown and aqua and canary yellow and orange also looks good too

I think just about anything works with chocolate brown. Here's ours for reference:

We've got black couches but these cushions would go with chocolate brown as well I think (it's a red/orange - looks a bit more orange in reality)ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1401253939.439615.jpg

We have red and orange cushions.
    Yellow would also match.

It looks great and the coloursbgive nice warmth to the room.
