    Having friends in the public service means nothing. Unless you are privy to the inner workings of each department, then I don't see how you can just "decide" that these things need to be done, that goes for your friends who work in the APS, unless they are the state director of course - that would be different!

    They've already cut thousands of jobs before the budget 500 at the ATO, 400 at Immigration and there are heaps of other depts going through the same thing, if the budget comes in and the 16,500 staff are cut, I bet I know the kinds of people who will be first in line whinging that their passport isn't being done fast enough or whatever!
