    Default Early miscarriage with IVF

It's my first time on this forum, my first cycle with IVF, and my first miscarriage. Am after some advice from anyone who's had a similar experience please.

I had my beta at 12dpt and was told that my HCG levels were very low and it was most likely I would MC in the next couple of days. I expected the MC to be emotionally hard but had no idea how physically hard it would be.

I MC'd the following day. Started with some spotting and mild cramps, then it quickly got worse, the result being that I spent 2.5hrs on the toilet with the most excruciating cramps I ever had in my life (worse than when I had a twisted bowel), with constant diarrhea (TMI sorry) and vomiting that was so violent and constant that in the end I was dry retching stomach bile and felt like I'd swallowed razor blades. Is this normal? Should it be this bad in such an early pregnancy?

Two days later I still have really bad lower back pain, and some spotting and mild cramping.

Should I be worried? I'm booked for blood test at IVF clinic in 4 days to make sure my HCG levels are back to zero.

    Any advice appreciated thanks.

so sorry to hear of your experience but unfortunately it is not uncommon. I had a MC at 8 weeks and it was extremely painful and I had a chemical pregnancy ...so less than 5 weeks and it was just as painful as the 8 week one. Even when no MC happens and IVF doesn't work, your period can still be very, very painful and heavy bleeding. I wish I had been told! You'll get there, heat packs and pain killers. I am guessing the body has to get rid of the failed implantation so regardless of MC or not it can be very painful. I am still getting some cramping after my last failed IVF (6 days ago!). Hang in there!

Totally understand where your at, this is my 3rd week of bleeding and finally its slowed to a trickle. Was diagnosed with missed M/C 18th may, was given drugs to stimulate M/C
Oooh boy, was on bathroom floor screaming for two hours, had dizzy spells, cold sweats, vomitting and violent shakes, until DH ran very hot bath which seemed to elevate pain and other symptoms gradually disappeared. Had D&C two days later, over next two weeks had several heavy bleds which resulted in hospital visits and observations. Overall a really crappy experience. And now we have get back in to positive mind frame and start IVF again in July!!
Hope you fair better in the recovery stakes, take care, go slow and don't over do anything!!
