    I think it's a nod to the fact that the song is supposed to be of Greek origins (a traditional Cephalonian song 'Yialo Yialo' has the same tune).

    I don't know, actually, but I assumed it was a set.
    The Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne is very greek... haven't seen any standalone columns like in the song though.
