Default No link between autism and vaccines?

    https://au.tv.yahoo.com/sunrise/vide...-break-may-20/

The vaccine bit is at 1.40 and a study has been released to prove there is no link between vaccines and autism.

Anyone got a link to that study? @Atropos? @beebs?

I am a pro vaxxer, and happy to see there is now no link between the 2.

There was never a link to begin with.

There was one paper published in 1998 where the author changed data and results and he has since been charged with serious professional misconduct.

Here is a review from 2012 that looks at case studies involving 1,500,000 children and found no link between MMR and autism. http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/1...7B76863.f02t02

1.25 million children involved = wow! Won't change the anti vax movements mind, but still!

I agree with wann - there was never a link. There are over 4000 studies showing no link, this is just the biggest cohort ever studied.

Not much to debate. It's proven there's no link. Yet the crack pots will still believe the frauds theory.

I started a thread about this this morning but in the pro vax section.

    Here's the link I posted http://mobile.news.com.au/lifestyle/...-1226923177732

If you click Vaccine at the end, it'll take you to the journal. You can read highlights on it if you scroll down.

If there was never a link why did people believe there was?

Because some idiot called Andrew Wakefield decided to make up research about MMR causing autism because he was being paid by a legal company who was representing parents who believed their children were harmed by the MMR, to conduct the study. There's also some talk that he was also developing a rival vaccine (which of course would have made a fortune), but I don't know if that was ever proven.

The original study only involved 12 children, but these parents were recruited through anti-MMR campaigns.
