He has to look into it on Monday. I've been given lots of advice and appreciate every little bit. Thank you.

Can your mum and or sil come to you for a bit to help? One of then for a couple weeks then the other. If he will be off work awhile you could try centrelink? Go in with a letter from his doc stating how long he can't work for. Also check with your mortgage provider you might be able to get a payment holiday or go interest only for a while.

If he was playing for a team etc like footy would his club have any insurance that might help out?

Scuse all the posts I'd be devastated if I were in your boat. I don't know how old your bub is but could a sippy cup be an option?

No they can't come here unfortunately. I *may* be able to get mum, long shot though as I don't think she will be able to take such a long time off work. From what I've read today it is a 4-6 month recovery. I'm ringing Centre link on Monday. On my income we will qualify for ftb, ccb & ccr from what I can tell online so that will help a bit. We do have a decent amount in savings but that will only go so far. I tend to over think things and stress.

Sorry, I've totally derailed our positive thread. I just needed to vent.

Eta-We found out today the sports insurance won't cover income (only ambulance cover) which sux because the cover we had for touch and netball did cover it and surgery costs.

Even if your mum can only come for a bit that would be less time you are apart as a family. Ask her.

Not my thread at all but I couldn't read and not respond.

I'm so sorry to hear of this Ngaiz. I would definitely look into his super cover as I didn't know I even had income protection till last year when my employer had info sessions on it.. I believe most do cover you, so fingers crossed.

Otherwise hoping your family in NZ might be able to help by coming over.

Thinking of you lovely. I'm sure a million things are going thru your head right now. Hopefully you can get some answers tomorrow or ASAP xx

Ngaiz I'm afraid I don't have any advice but just wanted to say how sorry I am. It's certainly a very difficult situation and I hope there are other options for you once you start ringing around. Am thinking of you all xx
