My c section was similar to Arlais - no real issues at all and didn't need any of that stuff (although the big knickers did help!). The wound looks terrible at first but then you realise the tape and stuff they put over it is way bigger than the actual incision!! Plus then your tummy shrinks down so it gets even smaller.

My scar from my c section the first time ended up in my pubic hair so I would never see it, but even if I looked it wasn't red at all, just a very fine white line that was about 6 cms long. Pretty insignificant! This time (6 weeks on) it is very fine, a little pink still, below the top of my pubic hair, about 10cms long and a tiny bit raised still. I expect it will get smaller as everything shrinks back.

I just try to remember that a vaginal birth doesn't always mean no surgery / wound / scar. There are plenty of ladies with injuries and scarring inside and out from vaginal births.

The way I look at it, I would rather a scar on my lower abdomen than on my hoo hoo!

On Sunday night it was quite tender on one side and by Monday night it had started to swell. I called ob but he was in theatre all day. He called me back just after 7pm and I have to be there at 8am tomorrow. The incision is clean with no swelling or redness so it's something that's going on inside. To be honest, because I felt so good post op, I wasn't taking it easy like I should have. I'm hoping I haven't done damage to the internal stitching.
