My kids went to preschool. 2 days a week (could've done 3 if I had the money), 9-3. It was privately owned (I think?), an off-shoot of a church, though it wasn't religious.
They are becoming less common though, as the demand for longer hours like daycare is high. Even my kids wonderful preschool has expanded now to have a 2yo room, and has the option of 830-330.

My kids loved their preschool though, much much better IME than daycare. I would highly recommend one if you can find one.

Google KU NSW for a list of their preschools. There is usually a waiting list though. My 3 yo dd goes to a community preschool run by parent committee. They are great.

Where in NSW will you be living ? My DS started 3 year old pre school this year 2 days a week ( privately run pre school only for 3-5 year olds ) but there are at least 3 or 4 others near us ( st george area of Sydney) but the government ones are really hard to get into as they give preference to 4 year olds ( something to do with funding I was told !)

Local councils also run preschools that accept 3yos.

The NSW govt no longer funds children who are 3 to attend preschool. As a result it is increasingly difficult for a 3 year old to get a place if they are still 3 on the 31 july of that year. Some private preschools may have places, long day care still have places, some places charge more or you may get lucky and find a place with low enrolments who still takes three year olds. It can be a bit tricky to find a place in a preschool this time of year depending on where you are.

Hi, we wil be living with the in laws in St Mary's until we find a house to buy in an area we like. The one my daughter goes to is privately run and apart of our local catholic school. I pay $60 a day for one day a week. Where can I find the privately run ones?? I'm not keen on daycare.

does anyone know of anything near St Mary's??

she absolutely loves school I don't want her to miss out. We tried daycare and she hated it.

KU preschool goes from 3-5 years. There may be one in St Marys.. if not there is one in Kingswood.

Thanks so much! I'm looking into all info you have given me I just had a look at the KU website and I'm confused? Is it a Kindy or a daycare centre?
