    Default Odd rash around nose/mouth.

My 5 year old daughter has developed a sort of "pimply rash" around her chin area and nose. Over the past day or so I've noticed more little spots appearing 2 of which looked like pimples on her nose with a sort of head on them. She has no temperature and is well within her self. We have a doctors appointment later today but I was just curious if anyone had any suggestions? It doesn't seem to match some of the causes of rashes similar to this that I've found online. I originally thought hand foot and mouth but it doesn't match the symptoms etc she had when she first contracted it at 18 months of age. Thanks! ImageUploadedByThe Bub Hub1400017371.481416.jpg

My son had something like this last winter, I went to a dermatologist and it turned out to be peri-oral dermatitis, it's not contagious or serious. After doing a bit of google research, we stopped using creams with petrochemicals in (he has eczema too) it cleared up, however it also coincided with the start of spring, so I'm still not sure if it was just a winter thing with him licking his lips too much etc. certainly check with your GP to rule out H F & M though.

Thanks so much for the reply! She is quite prone to contact dermatitis from certain plants/grass. My husband has seborrheic dermatitis and the dermatologist said it's very likely our children will have it or some form of dermatitis since it's hereditary. Our youngest daughter has ezcema.. I'll certainly check with the GP about it being dermatitis if the nasties are ruled out!
