They've just cut billions from healthcare... I dare say that will affect people going through IVF and fertility related treatment.

And the old 'we'll vote them out then' is not enough of a comfort for people whose lives will change immeasurably very soon. I am happy for you that you aren't going to be hurt by the budget, and tbh I can't really see that I am going to be either, but I think it's important to acknowledge that there are many, many people out there living on the bones of their bum as it is that will be significantly worse off.

That's without getting into foreign aid, 'border security', climate change etc.
and there are many many people out there who have been rorting the system and getting money for nothing. My and our tax money. They are cracking down on them which is a good thing and I agree with it 100%. TBH I will be hurt as well but what can I do or say, I am not Tony Abbott and it was always going to happen. They always have to recoup losses.People will lose jobs ect it was always going to happen. I like the budget because it cracks down on the people milking the system and gets more tax of the higher earners.

I think the budget was fair, I expected worse with all the talk over the previous weeks. Every time the budget is released there is always people that won't be happy. I have more faith in the Libs than I do in Labour hence why I am a liberal supporter. I think the cuts to foreign aid, immigration, asylum seekers and the detention centres are long over due and happy to see the funding to border security which should never have been cut in the first place. I was also glad to see there were no changes to the ccr.

@Sharlee32 I see you're having a really rough time with TTC at the moment. I have been there. Between DD1 and DD2 I cycled 16 times. It was beyond awful and my heart still hurts when I think about it.

You're at the bottom at the moment. Honestly don't let the bitterness you're feeling right now lead you into a cyber fight on an issue that doesn't matter as much to you.

Take it easy on yourself. I have had some awful times with ivf and would be be happy to pm you about what I went through. You're definitely not alone.

DS took ages to get to sleep tonight, gah, so I have some catching up to do.... All I've really heard so far is it's the beginning if the end of Medicare.... How terribly wrong and depressing

The tax on high income earners is temporary, but low income earners suffer forever.

How exactly is it cracking down on people who are milking the system? It makes life a lot harder for genuine people in need, ruined by the 0.00001% of people who might be rorting benefits.

Exactly... Zip zilch... Thousands of dollars out of pocket is what we get having to do IVF!
