ABC has good stuff, although some would argue they are pro labor Personally I do find them slightly pro ALP, but I more find they take the Libs to task and ask them the hard questions the murdoch empire doesn't want to. ABC may sway a little to the left, but Murdoch media is positively falling over to the right.

I'm with Beebs, I think many are swayed by this media company, who of course has a financial interest in keeping the LNP in power, and think they are reading facts, when really it's just propaganda. I actually don't hate lib voters. Some of my fav BH members are lib voters, but when you ask them why, they give an educated response - not 'to keep the boat people from stealing my job' or 'to stop my tax dollars going to all the ghetto welfare users'. They want what I want; a happy healthy society with a good economy, we just don't agree on the best way to get there.

    Default The Budget!!

I don't think 'uneducated' is necessarily a put down or name calling. I am uneducated in the field of medicine. If I read something about medicine that is totally incorrect but I assume it's true and make life choices/form opinions based on that assumption, then I am coming from an 'uneducated' position. It isn't the same as calling someone stupid.

Many of us, or even most of us, are uneducated in the field of economics. I believe it's our responsibility as citizens of this country to look to more than one source of media (whether or not we agree that it is biased towards one particular side or the other) to understand what both the *educated* critics and supporters of the budget have to say, in order to become less 'uneducated'.

I thinks it's telling that there are far more educated critics than supporters.

Oh yeah, i wasn't saying all liberal voters are ignorant. I was talking about the ones annoying me on social media. The "Glad abbott is he has stopped the boats like he said and the leftys r howling". Or the stupid comments about the debt, or the stupid ones about pensioners getting too much etc.

I understand there are some people who Vote liberals because they feel it is the best for the country. Personally, I don't understand this view, as it means that the most vulnerable will suffer.

PS, did anyone see that thing on facebook, about a family - a dad, grandma and three children living in a tent it he outskirts of Perth. The family say that if they stayed in their remote community in WA, the kids would never had stood a chance, education is just not good enough in Aboriginal remote communities. And they want to kids to get a really good education so they can break the cycle. So they moved down to Perth, are living in a tent, have no money, no jobs and yet manage to get the kids to and from school every day - 3 suburbs away - they are on the housing list, but it is a 5 year wait

Now that is what I call doing it tough - it is already horrifying, Libs will make it even harder for families like that. Just so unfair.

I think the key is to read widely and always with a critical hat on.

    I broke the cycle.

I grew up in foster care.. I went from very rich to very poor..
    Lost my mum to cancer..
    Do not have a dad.

I married we made a business and it went awesome but I was emotionally abused and had to leave.

The ace in my sleeve... My strength to walk out and get back up... But without help, my children will suffer.

I was in a household that made 350k a year and I was happy that our tax money went to those that were not as lucky.

Breaking a cycle is admirable.. But not always possible.

I broke it now I am right back in it. I am poor.
    I work my *** off..
I get free travel... So I am lucky but there are weeks I freak out.

Breaking a cycle is wonderful and admirable..
    But..

Not being in a position to break is not a sign of failure and I personally think that most people want to but don't always have the opportunity.

This is a list of independent media:

You can also look up Murdoch in May on fb as they have the links in the screenshot on their page.
