What the ****!? $7 a visit might not seem like much to many people, but to the people who you most want to get into the doctor... it's gunna make a hell of a difference. Like you need to do MORE to discourage people from going to see a doctor. Preventative health care is so SO much cheaper than dealing with problems once they become an emergency.
    That makes me do angry.

There were do many times when I was at uni and could not afford $7. I find it a disgusting policy.

Well at the end of the day you can all argue as much as you want but they are in, they were voted in by the Australian public and not just me I am assuming I didn't get them in by myself. If your so unhappy then vote them out (next election).

Ok, so what happens when you have kids and you're on one low income?

I don't care. It goes up all the time anyway so I will factor it in and go without a little something.

Please. You have to admit given the posts your comment was intended to be inflammatory.

You are of course entitled to your opinion. But I want to know why you geniuiny think this is the "best budget".

Do I get empathy for my IVF struggles ect..no. I can't be concerned for everyone in the country and each person's issue, we all have our own issues.

    Default The Budget!!

I never understand this argument! Seriously not having a go, but I don't see how there is a correlation between a government being voted in, and them automatically doing a good job.

This particular government (using it as an example because it's current, not because it's unique) has broken core election promises. So *this* government is not necessarily the one that many Australians 'voted in'.

And the old 'we'll vote them out then' is not enough of a comfort for people whose lives will change immeasurably very soon. I am happy for you that you aren't going to be hurt by the budget, and tbh I can't really see that I am going to be either, but I think it's important to acknowledge that there are many, many people out there living on the bones of their bum as it is that will be significantly worse off.

That's without getting into foreign aid, 'border security', climate change etc.

Hopefully all the money going towards research will find a cure for uncompassionateitis - commonly found in people who live in a "i dont have any experience in something so i'll practically rejoice in their hardship" fantasyland

Ummm...I'm pretty sure many of the commenters on this thread would be among your biggest supporters as far as IVF is concerned.
